Electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis and installation are performed on a time and materials basis.

Electrical problems are some of the most frustrating issues on a boat: a battery that won't hold a charge, gauges that cut out, an accessory that stops working, or an engine that won't crank. Saltwater, vibration and corrosion work on every connection, so small electrical faults tend to grow if they're ignored.

What we work on

Our technicians troubleshoot and repair charging, starting and ignition circuits, track down corroded connections and wiring faults, test and replace batteries (we're an Interstate Battery dealer), and handle electrical installation for electronics, gauges and accessories. Electrical work is also part of our Mercury repowers and custom rigging.

Electrical work is billed on a time and materials basis. We'll explain what we found and your options before we go further. W.O.T. Marine is a Mercury Authorized Service Center in Vista, CA, servicing Mercury, Mercruiser, Yamaha and Volvo Penta engines for boaters across North County San Diego, greater San Diego County and the Inland Empire.

Electrical repair FAQs

Why do boat electrical problems keep coming back? Corrosion and loose connections are the usual cause. Fixing the symptom without fixing the connection means the problem returns.

Can you install new electronics or accessories? Yes. Electrical installation is part of this service.

Do you test batteries? Yes. Battery testing is part of our 100-hour and 300-hour services, and our Battery Replacement service covers new Interstate marine batteries.
