Owner and Son Kyle Lancon has been around boats and mechanics since a very young age. In his early years he would spend his summers off at his grandparents automotive repair shop in Torrance, CA. There he learned valuable skills from sweeping the floors to rebuilding his first engine. From there he found himself working in Mission Bay at the boat rental docks. Later as a sophomore in high school, Kyle worked for renowned engine builder Paul Pfaff at Pfaff Engines. Today, Kyle can be found managing the front office and running the dockside service for W.O.T. Marine. In his spare time he enjoys boating and off-roading with his friends and family.
Owner and Father Jim Lancon was born and raised in Torrance California. He moved to Carlsbad in 1996, and has been a boat owner for over 27 years. When he is not at the shop, you can usually find him boating in his backyard, the Aqua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad. He also enjoys a getaway trip to the Colorado River and racing his boat on the famous Parker strip. His professional career began as an aircraft mechanic and aerospace engineer. Jim enjoyed working in that field for over 28 years. In 2005 W.O.T. Marine was founded. Today, he and his son Kyle have successfully built a thriving boat service center. Jim is typically found in the workshop, performing engine and boat maintenance, repairs, engine troubleshooting and diagnosis. He is always happy to answer boat related questions or offer suggestions and solutions that customers may have.
With a passion for boating developed at a young age, Cole was a great addition to the W.O.T. team in May 2012. Growing up living and breathing everything motor-sport related he gained experience as a mechanic working with anything he could get his hands on. Restoring and repairing high performance boats, classic cars, and motorcycles gave him a solid foundation for an entry into the marine industry. As someone with great attention to detail, every job big or small, perfection is always his goal. Living just minutes from the shop in Encinitas, Cole spends his free time taking trips to enjoy the Colorado River with his family and friends.
